I want to say Happy birthday to my sister!!!!
Okay, back to the tip...I went through a phase of buying the "glade" candles from the store, and then found myself saving the holders with the unused wax. So, there I was with tons of the holders with unusable wax, taking up space in my pantry. I, of course, couldn't just throw them away. What a waste! Finally, I had an idea of what to do with them.
I turned my oven onto 350 degrees, placed about 6 on the candle holders onto an old cookie sheet, and put them into the oven. (use a cookie sheet you don't plan on cooking with again) After about 10 min, the wax should be melted enough to pour out. I poured it right in the trash, but you can use an old can or something else. Be careful not to pick up the holders without pot holders. Yes, I did that and OUCH!!! Before the holder cools off, take a dry paper towel and wipe the inside out so you can get as much of the wax out as possible.
Now, they won't get clean enough to drink out of or anything, but now you have perfectly good candle holders that you can decorate and give as gifts. Or keep them around the house with water and a few drops of you favorite scented oil!
